The Dad Behind The Bar

A joke between friends that turned into something real.

“Bad Little Kids started as a joke between me and my crew, but it turned into something real.”

I’m Zach, a single dad from Texas raising four wild, loud, hilarious, bad little kids — the kind that inspire you to work harder and dream bigger.

I wanted to create a product that was simple, clean, and made with my own hands — something my kids could be proud of and something I could grow into a business that supports us.

Soap became the perfect fit. It’s practical, it’s useful, and when you make it right, people feel the difference. Friends loved it. Family wanted more. And suddenly this little dad-made project became a brand.

Every bar of Bad Little Kids soap is made with intention, quality, and the same grit it takes to raise four tiny tornadoes. This isn’t factory stuff — it’s handmade by a dad building something real for his family.

Everything worth knowing about the lye, the earth, the cure, and how fast a box gets to your door.

Ask Zach

Diatomaceous earth provides a natural, gentle scrub that lifts stubborn dirt and buildup without relying on synthetic chemicals.

Yes. Traditional lye soap undergoes full saponification during curing, leaving behind a rich, cleansing bar that is tough on dirt but gentle on skin.

Every single bar is poured, cured, and packaged by hand in Texas.

No. Lye is the chemical reaction that turns oils into soap. By the time a bar finishes its cure there is no active lye left, only soap, glycerin, and the ingredients we added on purpose.

With daily use, a bar typically lasts three to four weeks. Keep it on a draining soap dish and let it dry fully between uses and it will last noticeably longer.

The grit is fine and natural, not sharp. If you are sensitive to fragrance, the Unscented Heavy-Duty Grit Soap has no added scent or color at all. As always, test a small area first.

Word of Mouth

From hardworking hands.

“I work on diesel engines all day. This is the first bar that actually gets my hands clean without wrecking the skin around my knuckles. The grit is real.”

Dustin R.

Beaumont, TX

“Bought the Midnight Lavender expecting a sweet floral and got something way darker and better. It smells like a storm coming in. Reordered twice already.”

Marisol V.

Houston, TX

“The charcoal bar is the only thing that pulled the smell of the deer lease off me. My wife noticed before I said anything.”

Cole H.

Lufkin, TX

“I have reactive skin and most soap leaves me itching for an hour. The unscented grit bar does not. That alone made me a customer for life.”

Renee A.

Austin, TX

“You can feel that it is handmade. Uneven edges, heavy in the hand, lasts forever. Nothing like the shrink wrapped stuff at the store.”

Trey M.

Tyler, TX

“The leather and cedar bar is unreal. My husband keeps stealing it so I now order two at a time.”

Bianca L.

San Antonio, TX

“Ordered on a Monday, cured bars showed up that week wrapped by hand with a note. Small business done right.”

Wes T.

Dallas, TX

“Bought a set as gifts and every single person asked me where I got them. The dark packaging is gorgeous.”
